RECAP OF NEIGHBORHOOD HOA MEETING October 8

  • Financial Overview

    • Total amount in bank account: $36,879

      • $24,079 in our operating expenses account

      • $12,800 in our pool resurfacing account

      • Expenses account is comparable to last year where our balance was $21,860 in the operating account on 10/6/2023

    • Breakdown by Expense

      • We have saved the following from the same time last year:

        • $850 on landscaping

        • Electric usage, internet  & costs is almost identical from last year 

        • Insurance rates when up this year so we are paying about $7 a month more than last year

        • Water usage seemed kinda comparable to last year but this was hard to track with the water pipe burst/$6k leak 

      • $125 came in for pool key replacements

      • $250 for pool parties 

      • $425 for renter passes 

  • Pool Update - Officially closed this week for the 2024 season

    • Everything put up in advance of Helene

    • Remaining area cleaned by Kay, Gene & Jonathan

    • Pool will winterize after temps consistently drop; this involves covering the pool & changing the chemical balance

      • we will turn off the water & do the antifreeze then to prevent pipes bursting

    • Ask if anyone wants to voice anything about this years pool season? 

      • What we can do better? 

        • Public intoxication is against the law; 

        • Neighborhood = 3 strikes 

        • board discretion for pool access removal

        • fines = 

    • Potential new camera locations = expansion off of existing 

      • maybe turn on motion detection

      • Alarm going off on cameras after hours 

      • 1 strike & out for past offenders 

    • Thoughts on closing after Labor Day instead of after Fall Break?

      • weekend after Labor Day close > Monday after that weekend

  • End of Year Review

    • Position opening for Treasurer! Please let us know who is interested!

    • Voting Items to be coming up

      • Said treasurer position

      • Special Assessment - Year 2

      • no alcohol at the pool?

      • Potentially approving replumbing the pool house: expected to be a $2k expense - this would come from our operating expenses account & not the special assessment allocation

    • Meetings in the winter will likely take place at the Library so please plan accordingly
